Cessman vs. Joe Ariwa – “Shanker”

Cessman has teamed up with Mad Professor and his legendary record label Ariwa to launch Dubliminal in fine style. July 2010 sees the long-awaited release of Cessman and Joe Ariwa’s collaboration 12″ vinyl featuring four quality tracks – two from each producer.

Cessman’s half of the 12″ brings two very different heavyweight dubstep tracks – “Shanker” is a heavy-hitting rhythm which lives up to its name and causes serious bodily damage on the dancefloor, while ”Emperor Selassie” brings a more cinematic, dark, brooding rhythm track to the table with a haunting melody lurking in the background.

Joe Ariwa’s side features “Wicked Man”, a new-school dub/dubstep crossover track which is truly next level. Featuring co-production from The Trixsters and the vocal talents of the worldwide performer Queen Omega. With an opening horn line, filter sweeps galore, a bassline reminiscent of King Tubby’s electronic outings, and classic Ariwa-style dub production a-plenty on this track, it couldn’t have been made by anyone except the son of Mad Professor!

“Razor Sharp Dub” is the instrumental dub version of “Wicked Man” which will provide you with another chance to appreciate Joe Ariwa’s fine production skills and the new emerging dubstep/dub crossover sound of which this record is pioneering.

In all good record shops and online stores July 2010.
